Im trying to read MX25L1605...
This is 2MBytes SPI flash.
Seems like PonyProg does not support this type of flash - if select in options device "SPI eeprom" and device type "25160", it reads only 2048 Bytes (instead of 2048 KBytes).

I found another SPI project: spiflash.org
Peoples say it works fine.
Now i dont see another way how to flash this MX25L1605.

Its pity that PonyProg doesn't work. This is great project, but probably only one thing miss - just some software support...

Now we should to make a new hardware for SPIFlash programmer.

So, spiflash is good project.
Reading and writing MX25L1605 is OK.
I used 74LS245 (see datasheet...) from old ISA multicard, and this simple sch s017.radikal.ru/i441/1111/c0/4ae8fe47b80c.jpg
All components mounted on a back side of DB25(M) connector, length of wires no longer than 3-5cm.
Power supply,
Flash IC Vcc: 3V Li battery CR2032
74LS245 Vcc: USB +5V.

PS: I tried to use this programmer on a few PCs... It works fine on one, and doesn't work at all on another (all received bytes is FF) due to some software/BIOS/settings issues.
