New release 2.08c
Posted by: lancos ()
Date: May 10, 2013 12:59AM

Just released a new version 2.08c that should fix the installation on 64bit Windows.
I switched the driver from dlportio to inpout32. To run setup you need administrative privilege, but then you need only normal user privilege to run PonyProg.
Test please and report any problems.
Download from http://sourceforge.net/projects/ponyprog/files/latest/download

Can you insert the PA Models of the Atmegas in a new Release.

I2C Bus 8bit eeprom can't be read on my PC (W7-64) ;o(

When I set Interface Setup - Parallel - EasyI2C I/O - LPT1
... Probe say "Test failed"
... Read Device say "Hardware error, is the board properly connected? (-14)"

When I change to EasyI2C API
... Probe say "Test failed"
... Read Device say "Communication port not available (-16)"

Does anyone know where is the problem?

Hello Jeso.

I have created patch to PonyProg 2.08c source files with supporting some new signature bytes for atmega processors.

These changes I have implemented:

+added support for ATmega328P
+added new signature bytes recognition for atmel processors
0x1E 0x94 0x0B // new ATmega168PA (RG 28.09.2012)
0x1E 0x95 0x0F // new ATmega328P (RG 23.06.2012)
0x1E 0x94 0x0F // new ATmega164A (RG 30.08.2013)
0x1E 0x95 0x15 // new ATmega324A (RG 30.08.2013)
0x1E 0x95 0x11 // new ATmega324PA (RG 30.08.2013)
0x1E 0x96 0x0A // new ATmega644PA (RG 18.04.2012)

+added text "Detected signature bytes: 0x1E 0x?? 0x??" on the unknown device message window
+added text "Detected device is: ..." on the bad device type message window

Archive file with patch file and windows patching script is hosted here:
http://www.filedropper.com/ponyprog208csourcefilespatcher

So you can compile the executable yourself with original files downloaded from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ponyprog/files/PonyProg%20sources/2.08c/PonyProg2000-2.08c.tar.gz/download

with applying my patch

or

download compiled win32 executable from here:
http://www.filedropper.com/ponyprog208crgv100

I am not a professional programmer, so if there is a more elegant solution, I will take advice.

Best regards

RG

Your patch file is not available on filedropper anymore. Can you make it available?
Did you send it to lancos so he can apply the patches?

Hello Carlo,

thanks for your interest.

I have created an alternative simple web page ( http://sonix.szm.com ) where you can download these files.

And the answer on your second question is, no I have not send the patch to Mr. Lanconelli. I have contacted Mr. Lanconelli via email (29.8.2013) with question about non functional PonyProg Phorum registration, but I did not received no answer yet. So I think that Mr. Lanconelli has no time to active work on PonyProg project and therefore he released source code so the other people can continue on his great work.

I have spent a lot of time to understand, how is the graphical user interface created, so that I can add new menu and other pieces of code.

I hope, I can help other users with these files.

Best regards

RG

Hi, I applied your patches to CVS, thank you for your contribution.
Only one change, in my opinion, need some rework, the one about print detected ID.
I will prefer to avoid global variables.

I also found the problem about email on registration, now is working

Hello lancos,

I agree with you regarding the use of global variables. But I had no idea how to return the ID's to the message box and so I used global variable. I'm self-taught person in programming and a beginner in object oriented language C++, so I have a lot to learn.

Best regards

I tried the new version. It is working stable and very good. I would be very happy, if the Tiny 4313 will be supported. I am using a 2313 for my RFID, but i am running out of Memory.
