Write failed with 95640 SPI EEPROM

Hi there, greetings to everyone !
I have built the Si-prog Serial programmer with the SPI 25XXX adapter, I am using Win7 32bit, running Ponyprog2000 2.07c as Administrator. I can read EEPROM 95640 in Si-prog API and even Si-prog I/O, but fails to write. I don't know if it is reading right or wrong, I got readings. I double checked and tripple checked all wiring, I have 5V on pins 3, 7, and 8. Ground on pin 4. In Interface setup "Probe" shows "Test Ok"
One thing to mention is, I did not had at hand LM2936, and used a substitute LM2950 also a low dropout voltage regulator also, can this be the problem ? Also tried supplying externally with 5V, no succes.
Downloaded Ponyprog2000 2.09c source, compiled and gived a shot on ubuntu 14.04 64bit. still the same, reads but will not write to 95640 EEPROM
