How to solve Problems programming ATMEGA128
Date: July 21, 2009 10:22PM
I'm trying to program an atmega 128 using Ponyprog 2.05a Beta.
The schematics of the programmer and board on wich is mounted the microcontroller are included in the attachment.
- I'm doing theese tests on a laptop with Windows Vista and a DB9 serial cable ( USB to RS232 adapter ) because i've not serial ports on this laptop.
- I've runned for the first time ponyprog, and then i've connected the programmer circuit to the board with atmega mounted and edited the configuration options ( Interface Board setup ) setting the serial programmer 'SI Prog API'
- then I've launched the 'Calibration' command.
- and then i've setted the target device as Atmega128.
No other settings have been modified by me.
I've created a buffer to be written in flash program memory and then i've tried to program it on the microcontroller.
After that i've launched the commad to program the flash memory, after some seconds, appears a message that says "Device Missing or unknow device (-24)"
I've observed signals by the oscilloscope and i've seen that CLK , MOSI and MISO signals are present (and seem right ) the RESET signal seems changing as supposed.
Wich could be the throuble ??????????
Electrical scheme or software settings ???????????????
The oscillator on the atmega don't seems to oscillate, but the fact that MISO signal is present ( generated by micro ) let me suppose that the micro does something.
HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS
